WiFi

Use the mycloud open network. It doesn’t require any password. For a faster internet use Tinden 305 network.

Smoking

Smoking inside is strictly forbidden. Fire alarms will get triggered if smoke is detected inside the apartment. You can smoke on the balcony. Please do not throw cigarette butts on the ground, dispose them properly.

Heating

All floors in bathrooms and shared areas are heated. Use thermostats to set the desired temperature. Do not set a higher temperature than you want to get, it won’t speed up the heating, but you can overheat the apartment. Heated floors take time to warm up, please just give it some time.

All the bedrooms have individual electic heaters with thermostats. The same advice applies.

There is a fireplace in the living room. You can bring your own fire wood, order some from us or buy it in the local supermarket. Kiwi i Ulsak usually sells firewood for a reasonable price.

Sauna

The sauna heater has two knobs. One sets the heating level and the other is to set the timer. The heater only works when the timer knob is within the white area. It lasts for four hours. The black area on the timer knob ca be used to set the timer in advance. For example, when you leave for eight hours and want the sauna to be pre-heated when you come back, set the timer to seven hours. It will start heating one hour before you come back.

If the sauna is not heating:

  • Ensure that the timer knob is within the white area
  • Check the heating level, set it to Max
  • Check the fuse box downstairs, the fuse is labelled Badstu

Food

Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, so you can cook your own food. There are two supermarkets in Hemsedal town: Coop Extra and Spar. The largest supermarket in the area is Kiwi Ulsak. You can also buy alcohol in Vinmonopolet, which is located in the same building as Spar.

You can find a few places to eat around the Ski Centre shopping area. In Hemsedal town there’s also Peppes Pizza and a few other restaurants. There’s also a Chinese place in Ulsak.
